Outdoor Classroom
To have an outdoor classroom would be very calming. The scenery would be beautiful. The plants will help sooth you. In contrast, I wouldn’t be able to concentrate because nature would pull you into its beauty. You might get lucky enough to play on the playground if you work diligently and friendly. In other words, if you finish quickly, the playground is right behind Wolfie’s Woods so you could play there. On the outdoor classroom you would be able to sit back and relax and maybe read a book, or play on the playground!

I think having an outdoor classroom would be and amazing experience for students at Timber Ridge. It would be an excecllent learning experience for students because we are in the fresh air and during math, if we are having trouble with fractions, decimals, or even multiplication or divison, we could use nature to help us. We could also use what we have outside to make a model in science. During writing, it would be a relaxing time and place to be, because nature is very peaceful. That is why I think this is a marvolous idea.

Outdoor Classroom
It would be nice to learn about science outside and to get some fresh air. You could watch the leaves until they fall to the ground. It would be fun to sit in the grass while you learn your lessons. There are beautiful trees around you to keep you company while you learn. You could feel the cool wind passing through the forest. There is gorgeous nature leaning toward you. It will be really nice to have an outdoor classroom with wonderful nature.

Outdoor Classroom
Learning will be different with an outdoor classroom in many ways. Ithink it will help the teachers with many things. In science, learning will be different by having some plants to observe. When plants change, you can watch the change over time. Another reason learning will be different is because there will be a huge area for experiments. In math, we'll be closer to each other so we can check easier and work together easier. In social studies, you can reenact what we're learning about with the stage. In reading, we acan work in groups easier and read read together better. Anorther reason learning will be dirrerent in reading is that you can read better with the sounds of nature. I can't wait for the outdoor classroom.

In my opinion, I love the idea of an outdoor classroom. This could help students focus on the beautifuul things around us, and you get to have fresh air all around! This could help many people in art too! For example, if you wanted to draw a bunch of flowers, you could go find flower bushes and draw! Also, once you are done with your work, you might get lucky and go get to play! Reading would be very calming. Sittin' back and relaxing while reading is one of the most fulfilling adventures ever! I love nature and can't wait till we get an outdoor classroom.

Outdoor Classroom
Having an outdoor classroom seems like an amazing opportunity for students at Timber Ridge to learn. School in general is fun, educational, and very inspiring, but think how much more fun, educational, and inspiring an outdoor classroom would be. There would be tons of beautiful nature surrounding you and feeling the wind whip through your hair. I think an outdoor classroom could be absolutely great. -Zoe H. |
Outdoor Classroom
Having an outdoor classroom would be good for teachers and students. In science, learning about plants would be so much easier because the teacher would have an example to show the class, and the students get to see the plant instead of just being told about it. I know you’re thinking, “What about on the SMART Board®?” well, you will get to see all the dimensions of nature and you will see it in person. Isn’t that a lot cooler than seeing an image of it? That’s why an outdoor classroom is a great idea.

An outdoor classroom? Wow! An outdoor classroom would be a great way to express learning. I think having an outdoor classroom would be great for writing. It is because it helps express ideas. Just think about it. You would be sitting down, you’re in the woods and you hear the wind and the birds blowing. I think this would be great for getting ideas for writing. You could write about birds, how lush the forest is or even great adventures. That’s what I think an outdoor classroom would be like.

I can’t believe Timber Ridge is going to have an outdoor classroom! This will affect our learning quite positively! It will affect it by having something to look forward to. I also think it will be great for kids to get some fresh air. It will surely be great to be outside in the nice warm air in spring. Our learning will progressively get better, which is because we can hear the beautiful sounds of nature. If I was to be taught a subject in the outdoor classroom, it would be science. That’s because we could see all the changes. Science reminds me of nature. What better way to learn about nature in nature! Mrs. Dunford is quite excited about this idea, she is even thinking about outdoor microscopes! I believe this will be a fantastic success for kids and teachers to use for many great years to come!

Outdoor Classroom
To me, learning science is hard enough, but when you are in the outdoors, most science revolves around nature. Imagine writing a science essay with the wind blowing in your hair. Nature helps most people think too. You can also enjoy the beautiful scenery these are all reasons why I think that an outdoor classroom would be amazing.

Outdoor Classroom
Having an outdoor classroom is good for our school because it is so relaxing and peaceful outdoors. You could see plants, animals, and insects for science. You could study volume with examples like rocks in a bin or box. Also, it could affect art. You could sketch stuff like leaves. It would make art very calming. Having an outdoor classroom is good for reading. It would make reading peaceful and you could understand books with nature in it better.

I think an outdoor classroom would be very good for students. We would have a lot of fresh air for concentration. We can relax while you can hear the nice cool breeze. If we learn about plants, we can go outside and plant. Maybe even watch it grow. We can also bring the portable microscope outside to study. On the stage, we can do plays that help us learn about math, social studies, and science. There are many fun things we can do in the outdoor classroom, and I can’t wait.

Timber Ridge is very excited about the project to bring back the outdoor classroom, which is helped, by one Boy Scout and one Girl Scout. This area is located to the left of the leftmost playscape area as well as above it. If you were standing there you would see lots of wildlife and a wooden amphitheater. The terrain is steep but not as steep as Stone Mountain. At the bottom it is completely flat. There will be terraforming to flatten the hill so that new benches can be fit in. Also, there will be a new stage to remodel this old amphitheater. In addition, there will be new steps. This project was created for one main reason, to have an outdoor learning environment in all classes. This is reflected in the fact that all classes will be able to access it. A teacher can use it for any reason he/she believes to be fit. We’ll be back to report on how this project goes.

Outdoor Classroom
Think of a world where school is outside. How would your learning change with an outdoor classroom? Just imagine what it would be like to learn outside, and not inside, a lot.
When you’re in class and you’re about to fall asleep, there’s no fresh air to wake you up. If you are in an outdoor classroom, you would have an unlimited supply of fresh air for you to stay awake during class. Also, fresh air helps you concentrate.
In science you are always learning about nature and seeing pictures of them. If you’re in an outdoor classroom, you can have a first hand experience with this nature. This can have you get a better image of what they smell, look, or hear like.
During writing, everything in the normal everyday inside the classroom, everything is completely still. Outside, there are more sounds, and more things moving. This would inspire you more, and give you more ideas about what to write about.
In social studies and reading, you are always imagining things and using your imagination. Outside, there is a bunch of open space for you. You can concentrate better and create more pictures and images in your mind.
